Frequently asked questions about voltage by country

Which countries use 110V and which use 220V?

North America, Japan and parts of South America run on 100V to 127V. Most of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East run on 220V to 240V. Brazil and Saudi Arabia are special cases with mixed regional voltages.

Do I need a step down or a step up transformer?

Compare your appliance voltage with your wall voltage. If the appliance is 110V and the wall is 220V, you need a step down transformer. If the appliance is 220V and the wall is 110V, you need a step up transformer.

Will a 50Hz transformer work on 60Hz power?

In most cases yes - our transformers are wound for both 50Hz and 60Hz operation. Voltage is what usually matters, not frequency. Frequency only becomes a real issue with motors that are sensitive to running speed.

Can you ship transformers to my country?

We ship to more than thirty countries across the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and South America, leaving from Ningbo or Shanghai port. Send us your destination and quantity and we will quote the freight.
