In most cases yes. Hum caused by ground loops or common-mode noise is eliminated because the transformer separates the input from the output electrically.
What size do I need for my system?
Add the wattage of everything that runs at the same time and add 30%. A 500VA unit covers a small system, 1000VA covers a stereo with amplifier, 2000VA covers a full home theater.
Is toroidal or EI better for audio?
Toroidal has a lower stray magnetic field and quieter operation, which suits sensitive audio gear. EI is more economical. We offer both.
